Creation and design of a gift catalog.

More than Gifts is the annual catalog of Mid Ocean Brands, one of the most internationally recognized companies in the promotional gift sector based in the Netherlands and offices throughout Europe and Asia. In its pages, it intends to transmit the work bases of the company: innovation, inspiration and commitment to quality.

With a large collection of products, the challenge is to show them clearly, so that the reader gets a quick and efficient reading or search. We want to convey the idea that these have been specially created to be printed and communicate a message. To do this, we create stories in which we show how these gifts, from the most innovative to the most basic, can be part of a promotional campaign, and how they can establish an emotional link between companies and people who receive and use these products.

“No detail loose” or “Art direction”.

We work in this catalog from beginning to end: concept creation, design proposals, layout, photography, final art and even print control. All these processes were done in our studio to have a thorough control and verify that everything fits perfectly.

More than 400,000 printed catalogs, 20 language versions, 432 pages, 1200 products, 10,000 images … When we create a catalog of this magnitude we can not only think about how the pages will be designed, but the challenge is to evaluate all the parties that will intervene in the process to propose and obtain the best possible result. We can not leave any detail at random.

The real secret to the success of any design project is customer support. It was essential to work side by side with Mid Ocean Brands, with fast and effective weekly and even daily meetings: Thanks Skype!

We take care of all the details to the maximum.

Each page is personalized and adapted to the product it is showing, so the design should anticipate the wide variety of products, without departing from the original idea. The art direction makes the decision of how each and every one of the photographs should be taken so that they explain what the client has transmitted to them.

The pages show the products in their context of use and explain stories of people with whom they interact, establishing an emotional connection of people with gift objects.
